The golden autumn: a season of harvest
On October 28, entrepreneurs who attended the activities named “Representatives of NPC in Yichang” signed 39 projects for the investment amounting to 27.19 billion yuan. The Third Department of China Construction launched another 50 billion worth project in 13th- Five-year plan period to speed up the completion of “Big, Strong and Beautiful metropolis”, following the 15 billion construction of the central business district in March of this year.
It is the common aspiration of Yichang people to build and stride to the strong city driven by new concept, hardworking and innovation.
A new blueprint, with rich connotation of “Post-Modern” city
Located in the core district, it is featured by silver-based unique exterior. Viewed from afar, it is like a giant aircraft flying into the sky or a silver mountain on the land. Here comes the Yichang Exhibition Hall！
The reporter visited the exhibition hall on November 2th and was caught by the sandstone engraved with mountains, rivers, cities, dams, bridges and other unique landscapes of Yichang city. Moreover, the reporter cannot move his eyes from the 3D modeling future urban landscape with the skyscrapers, lights and the beautiful mountains and waters.
“Those signs are made of discarded stalks and the flower beds are made with wood chips. With solar light on the roof and many windows in the walls, the rooms are much brighter” said the staff. The reporter found that the Planning Exhibition Hall can be viewed as the model of ecological system because of green technologies to save water, materials and energy.
Urban construction is under the guidance of scientific planning.
Watching the 1,500 –square- meter overall sand table model of Yichang, Xia Wenhan, the leader of City Planning Bureau introduced that the city collect the latest urban planning design from the top domestic and foreign institutions based on international perspective. The whole city should rely on its distinctive gorges terrain, which is illustrated by the idea “the city is surrounded by the rivers, the mountains and the green trees. The people live here, just like lives in a stunning painting ” and “Ups and downs, winding, jagged, continuous looming” landscapes. Yichang adheres to the people orientation, ecological priority, the prosperity city as well the industries and wisdom convenience. The whole urban spatial structure has been planed as “One Main Along with Five Deputy and with Four Gallery” with post-modern features and the whole city construction network will be described as the complex of “Mega Cities- Small City- The center of the town”. The “Three Dimensional Outline”, which is “Market-determined, Ecology-and People-oriented”, will be completed in the blueprint.

Easier said than done!
The reporter learned from the officers of the Yichang New District Office that they encountered a problem in designing and constructing Dian Jun Boulevard. There are more than 150 high-voltage towers bases along the 8-kilometer-long road, and substantial migration of those line towers will raise capital investment, large-scale digging mountains and opening road will go against the concept of ecological theory. The innovative ideas of building new district of Yichang city create a unique landscape for the straight and curve power lines winding through the high and low roads.

This is Guangguang, the first village for leisure in suburb of Yichang. The Party Branch Secretary of the village Xiao Yongcai informed that the village could receive the tourists groups more than 80,000 this year.
The magic ecological system highlights the strong momentum of “City-Industry Integration” of Yichang city.
The city is the carrier and base of industrial development, then industry could be regarded as the backbone and source of the urban development. On November 4, Chen Xiaoqing, the general manager assistant of Fine Chemical Industry Park of YichangHing Fat Group, told the reporter that the product here is made of raw materials from the downstream products and the material s in the park will eventually be made into products.
Nine companies from Yichang Fine Chemical Garden has formed an economy industrial chain by taking use of symbiotic coupling process of the different products and craft improvement, which be honored as “China Magic System” by the people in this field.
Chen Xiaoqing exemplified two typical recycling cases：One is the byproduct of glyphosate chloride use for the production of silicones; silicone-produced hydrochloric acid is used all for the production of glyphosate. Another is the application of ECO and MVR process, the entire phosphorus wastewater phosphorus are recycled for the production of phosphate, the byproduct of phosphate are recycled for the production of caustic soda, which earns more than 150 million yuan every year. Hing Fat Group thereby becomes one of four authorized nationwide glyphosate enterprises.
Currently, Hing Fat Group has been the partner of Coca-Cola, Nestle and other famous enterprises to produce high-purity edible phosphoric acid product, the safest new food additives recognized by international authority. “There is no absolute waste only misplaced resources,” said Li Guozhang, the chairman of Hing Fat Company, which sets an example in recycling.
Yichang Nan Bo Company has become the first domestic enterprise which aims at producing the full-close loop polysilicon by process innovation and its ultra-thin glass products with 0.2mm to 1.1 mm thickness have occupied the 40% market share. Their glass products 0.2mm electronic glasses have broken up the monopoly of Japanese companies. The food bio-pharmaceutical industry, leaded by Ren Fu Company with the average annual growth rate of 36.94% has become the fastest growing industry since the implement of “the Twelfth Five Year Plan”.
We strive to build a new city with booming development zones, prosperous industries and prosperity towns, together with the goal of the common prosperity of industries and cities. Currently, the constructed urban area expanded to 175 square kilometers from 100 square kilometers at the end of "11th Five-Year" plan with an increase of the resident population from 100 million to 175 million, and the city\'s urbanization rate increased from 48% to over 57%.

Wang Lingzhi, an official of Yichang Slum-Dweller Office, introduced that remodeling the shanty dwellers is like “golden key” to people’s happiness. Currently, the house estates such as JiuAncheng, Dong Cheng Xing Yu, Bei Cheng Ming Zhu are equipped with convenient transportation, full furnishing and excellent environment, whose quality is equivalent to the commodity house. Up to now, the number of slum-dweller remodeling amounts to 25,841 and 52514 sets resettlement have been under construction, 10252 sets basically completed and 4686 assigned.
“My friends show their pictures on Wetchat and I thought they are photos taken while travelling abroad, but it turned out to be Moji Hill ParkinYichang city.” said the couple Yang Zhong and Yang Yang, who live in Shangshang Community and are enjoying the mountains and waters in the afternoon on November 2th.
The 60-year-old couple Yang Zhong and Yang Yang is from Wuhan and they have worked in Yichang for forty years in response to the historical policy many years ago. They witnessed the earth-shaking changes here. “I have been dreaming of returning to my hometown but now Yichang city is becoming much better. I do not want to leave any more. In my heart Yichang is the best. Moji Hill Park is public recreation place with beautiful mountains, waters, city scene and bridges.” said the wife, her husband then nodded to agree.
A huge bronze scene frame stands at the entrance of Mo Ji Park. Looking through the frame, we could see the happy future of Yichang city.
With the green coverage rate of 41.3%, the green rate of 36% and urban per capita green space of 4.24 square meters, Yichang demonstrates a picture to us “the people live in the city and the city lies in the forest”. Yichang ranks the first in Hubei province for its forest coverage of 65%.
The construction of Yichang city is in full swing. The district of Jiang Nan and Jiang Bei go hand in hand and the inner city and new district move on together in city-construction. We strive to livelihood improvement and 415 related projects have been completed. “People can move to new house instead of slums.” About 17,785 families, 6.2 million people in total have been benefited from the project.
Yichang has completed the BRT project with a total length of 23.9 kilometers in July this year for the construction of “One Riverbank” city transportation system, which serves 500,000 passengers every day and reduces its operation time from 92 minutes to 59 minutes, which provides convenience for the public.
