It is learned that the Urban Design of Zhangjiawan Area, Xiaoting District has been approved by experts. The Design proposes that according to the planning and development strategy of "Zhangjiawan Area", the function of "Zhangjiawan Area" is to shift from "Airport Functional Area" to "Airport New Area", taking advantage of ecological resources to create a beautiful environment and a comfortable living environment.
　　Zhangjiawan Area is located in Xiaoting District, adjacent to the Three Gorges International Airport and about 20 km from downtown Yichang, and the planned total landuse is about 7.95 square kilometers. It is to be built into a quality new area with the relocation Xiaoting Administration Center, the expansion of the Three Gorges Airport and by virtue of superior natural landscape environment. According to the preliminary plan, Zhangjiawan Area will form a "One Axis, Two Centers" Layout with five functional areas, namely, the urban living development axis that is formed along Zhangjiawan road, the new administrative center of Xiaoting District and the Changshou Reservoir ecological center, and the five functional areas being the administrative area, the centralized living area, the innovative R & D base area, the aviation logistics park and the airport administration area.
　　Building the East Gate of Yichang City
　　Zhangjiawan Area will show people in the air the first impression of Yichang City, therefore, it is important to create a beautiful image of the city, and be concerned about creating an architectural space layout.
　　Building Urbanized Airport New Area
　　With reference to domestic and international aviation city building concept, the design of Airport New Area reflects peculiar modern urban space.
　　According to the design, the southeast of the airport is planned as airport exclusive administrative region for the future development of the Three Gorges International Airport. Building the southeast corner of Zhangjiawan Area into Three Gorges Aviation Logistics Park is to meet the modern logistics efficient and fast functional requirements with modular layout of the buildings.
　　Building a New Eco-town
　　With the open water of the Changshou and the picturesque sceneries along the Zhangjiawan Road as planned, the Airport New Area will be built into a typical town of Yichang featuring the combination of water, woods and people. (Reporter: Ye Xiaomei correspondent: Wang Junwu, Tian Shizhou)
