It is to form a network of 8 highways, namely, Shanghai-Chengdu, Shanghai- Chongqing, Yichang - Yueyang, Yichang-Badong, Zhangjiajie - Yichang, Yichang -Laifeng, etc.; it is to build the roads between the central city and urban counties, between urban counties, between key towns and urban counties of secondary and higher road standards; except for the existing five bridges crossing the Yangtze River, it is to build another five new bridges, namely Honghuatao Yangtze Bridge, Xiangxi Yangtze Bridge, Miaozui Yangtze Bridge, Wujiaguang Yangtze Bridge, and Baiyang Yangtze Bridge to facilitate the development on both sides of the Yangtze River.
　　Taking the fast roads, the trunk roads, rail transportation, BRT as the focus, it is to form a "three vertical and five horizontal" fast road network, and a "four vertical and three horizontal" trunk road frame to build fast transportation channels.It is to vigorously develop public transport, preplan two rail lines, and construct five BRT lines as alternatives for rail transportation.It is to give priority to the development of water transportation of downtown Yichang, and to build water transportation network, combining transportation and tourism together.
　　Yichang plans to build 4 railways, namely, Shiyi (Shiyan-Yichang) Railway, Yishi(Yichang - Shimen) Railway, Yizhang (Yichang - Zhangjiakou) Railway, Ziyun (Zijingling - Yunchi) Railway; to expand the Three Gorges Airport to 4E class airport; to promote the port of the Three Gorges Project and develop port handling and storage, transport and multimodal transport, port industrial development, comprehensive modern logistics, the Three Gorges tourism services and many other features; to build 11 logistics parks to build Yichang into a transport and logistics hub, and a major regional logistics node at the upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River. All these measures will make an integrated transport network with highways, fast roads, trunk roads, light rails, BRT, railways, airports, ports with seamlessly connections, building a new traffic  channel in Hubei Province.
